Summer over Shackleton   Leave a comment

A full lunar day over the south pole with the Sun 1.4 degrees south of the equator.  The landing beacons (sensor artifacts) point to a ridge near Shackleton that gets over 90% illumination.  The camera is a bit higher than the last post to see into Shackleton Crater.  Animation data derived from LDEM_875S.5M.jp2 produced by the LOLA science team reduced to 100 meters resolution.
