Shackleton Crater and Peak of Eternal Light   Leave a comment

Region near Shackleton Crater.  Shackleton at the right rear, proposed peak of eternal light in right foreground.  Looks like the Sensor Artifacts got there before we did.  Derived from LDEM_875S_100M.jp2 file produced by LOLA science team.  SMART took pictures and the Artifacts aren’t really there.

A close-up of the peak with illumination 90 degrees from that of the image above.  20 meter data derived from LDEM_875S_5M.jp2.
