80 degrees South, lit as 16-day-old Moon.  Data produced by LOLA Science Team.

The same location with the Sun at zero degrees above the horizon at the Pole. The actual range is +/- 1.5 degrees.

Curtius crater near the South Pole.  The program Blender 2.57 is an open-source 3D animation program (www.blender.org).  Blender opened a 650 meg stl file and rendered a viewpoint with lighting.  Meshlab would crash attempting to open a 500 meg stl file.  Image derived from data produced by the LOLA Science Team.  20 meter per pixel data reduced to 128 pixels per degree.  14 million faces in the 20 degree rectangle.
