Imbrium Basin   1 comment

Imbrium Basin cropped from ldem_16.jp2 produced by the LOLA Science Team.  Autolevels in Photoshop has the effect of exaggerating heights and depths in the grayscale image.  The inner ring of Imbrium is easily seen.

From the cylindrical projection, a flat Imbrium.  1500km rectangle.

  1. Yes, Howard!
Just tested your the grayscale as is, and it really shows up very spiky – one really has to reduce the contrast to get it to look any way like a normal view.

Did a flyover awhile back of the Carpathian/Apennine Mts region (~ bottom portion of grayscale image above), however, could have adjusted the speed though :)) – YouTube address – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTk7R0wBH98&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL ).

    Cheers
