I bought a pair of Konus 20 x 80 binoculars and mounted them on a sturdy photo tripod.
I shot through the right eyepiece with an old 2 megapixel photosmart, hand-held. The color image is a faithful representation of the color of the moon at 9pm. It was southeast, having risen about 90 minutes earlier. The grey image has the color removed and the contrast heightened.
