There’s a plug-in for Photoshop called Enhancer. It’s a one-button solution to improving photos. It tends to make dark areas of the moon turn green, but you can fix that by converting to grayscale. Here’s a photo of the southern highlands that really brings out the rays shooting out of Tycho. Shot at f/5

I used an ETX-125 f/15 and toucam pro, capturing an avi using k3ccd and processing in Registax. I drizzled the 640 x 480 image to 1600 x 1200, then processed in photoshop, and finally reduced the image to 800 x 600 to take out the drizzling artifacts. Drizzle is a software algorithm built into registax that extracts more data from the samples by creating a finer grid, and taking advantage of the minute shifts of the image frame to frame.
