South east of Copernicus   Leave a comment

I was shooting at 1/500, and it was a little dark.  Switched to 1/250, still a little dark.  Moved the gain from low to just past midrange, and the scene brightened, but did not blow out anywhere.  This worked just fine, and when I moved the finished file from registax to photoshop, auto levels didn’t do a thing.

Half of Copernicus is at the top.

February 7, 9:39pm  The moon was very nearly at the zenith.  Certainly the highest its been since I’ve started taking pictures.
